First 5 knob fuzz factory type pedal build - No signs of life!

Hi,

I used the PCB from this site:

and obtained the components from various sources, all new.. But I've assembled it according to the wiring diagram on the site and had no luck. No signs of life, no power, no signal..

What's the first thing to check? I'm a complete begginers when it comes to understanding electronics. I've done the practical side quite a bit before with soldering guitar wiring but I jumped the gun and used a wiring diagram hoping this would work from the off! but I was wrong aha..

What's the best way to go forward from here?
