What is the proper wording to search for a dpdt momentary switch that doesn't make any clicking noise when you step on it?

As far as I know, momentary switch never really "click".

Hmmm... I have a Jamman Delay and the tap tempo clicks like Frank Sinatra in tap shoes.  I called DigiTech and the engineer said it's a dpdt momentary switch.  I haven't taken the back off yet as I like to push the cart with horses.

Do you mean a clicking as loud as the latching 3pdt that we use for true bypass or only a soft clicking? I have just tested some momentary switches that I had lying around and they do make a little click when the pushbutton hit the bottom of the switch and another one when it comes back up but it ain't that loud (nothing even close to Frank Sinatra tap shoes ;)). Why do you need your momentary switch to be totally noiseless?
But anyway, I don't think that there is any proper wording to search for totally noiseless dpdt momentary switch.

There is "click" and there is "ka-chunk".  Latching switches go "ka-chunk" when they reach the tipping point and push the rocker contact over, while momentaries "click".

It sounds like the cheap taiwan 3p3t pedal switches, and it's a tap tempo that I use while playing ..8ths with a live drummer, so I click it regularly and between/before songs w/o the cover of other music.

the momentary "alpha" dpdt clicks as noisy as the latching version

i dont think that you'd need a full dpdt for tapping, usually its as simple as momentary spst. smallbear sells a clickless spst
