Glad you like it! I'm breeding on an even bigger version of this thing.

Made it back! I am not sure anymore. If you are going for a deluxe deluxe then I'll start working on the deluxe and deluxe2-ify it later!

I'm not working on an extended version.. The deluxe in here is the version to go for.

Sweet. Schematic in eagle. I guess anything is possible with one layer, but this one is wild.

^ love to use your hard work if you're up for sharing with us slackers. single sided etch would be great

Absolutely! I'm gonna look around for some more cmos layouts to see if I can pick up some tricks for keeping this stuff organized. Its pretty intense for this noob.

I can't wait. I will be the first one to have it built if you get a layout made :icon_biggrin:

There's no shame in jumpers in my opinion ;)

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

Any Ringdroid updates?

I tried a at tiny uC but could not get the PWM freq high enough. Might revisit my pll design.

Please do. Your clip at circuit workshop was pretty damn fine!

I really want to build the two octave version so I've been tinkering with a layout, too. It is a difficult design to do on a single sided PCB ....I'll say that! But, it sounds like loads of fun  :icon_cool:

~arph

Cool, I'd be honored if there was a mb layout for this

It will be my pleasure:)

I've got the schem in Eagle and I've worked on the layout on and off...a bit of a challenge, but I have about 75% completed.

I'm 75% excited ;) ;D

Bean, which one are you going for? The deluxe with the stepped filter? Have you seen my comment on where to connect the second octave down?

I tossed it on the breadboard again.. loads of fun thanks for bringing it up again.. i kinda forgot about it.

Now I need to suppress the carrier when there is no input signal. I can go two ways, either bring the pll oscillator to a halt or disable the oscillator entirely. I'd prefer the first as it would be the best soundwise, no abrupt stop. But it migt be more tricky tom implement. I'll have to dig further. Also i have some ideas like using pre and de-emphasis of high frequency content to reduce the carrier signal bleedthrough plus I need to rework the audio path a bit. Anyway the concept is proven.

Quite a challenge the PCB is going to be...

I was working from the deluxe version. I'll need to look at your comment again. Honestly, I kinda put it on the back burner for now because I was having a lot of trouble getting a well-organized single sided layout for it. My standard bag of tricks just wasn't cutting it. But, I'd still like to finish it.
