Amazing that the Marshall is STILL the standard after all these years.   :icon_cool:

AND the Les Paul...

I both worked on and cranked up my Marshall-inspired amp today in his honour.

Snap, I too had a jam on my 4x12 greenback cab and amp while the neibours were out, in honour it was correctly LOUD.

I wonder if his JCM.800 licence plates are up for grabs

I have a couple minor tweaks planned for my Artist tonight, then it will be summarily cranked as well.

one of the only true legends left from the last century. a great man. many people have told me of their personal interactions with him at tradeshows/NAMMs etc, he was always personable and down to earth from what i can tell. what a dude.

his contribution is historic. RIP.
my life is a tribute to the the great men and women who held this country together when the world was in trouble. my debt cannot be repaid, but i will do my best.

I often wondered if he meant for his amps to be pushed so hard and it sounded great because of the changes he made to the Bassman or  he saw how his amps were being played he began tweaking them for more gain.

He definitely left his mark.  Seems copying and slightly improving is one path to greatness.  Love my 50watt clone, and am sad to see him pass.  Sure he lived a great life though.

His company grew leaps & bounds in the 80's , at the time i was only a teenager , and i did not fully understand the depth
of what it meant to own a Marshall amp as i did not know how to play at the time ..... Jump ahead to present day with more than 20 years of playing experience , i know now that having and playing a Marshall live gave you a " leg up " on the competition so to speak .
All but a few nights in my carer as a musician did i not have a Marshall behind me on stage ...... Marshall amps are the sound of Rock , always will be .

RIP Jim Marshall
