Ok, recent posts in the pictures thread suggests that I'm not the only one challenged in the graphics creation area. So in true diy-sharing-spirit I thought; "Why not share graphics for our stompboxes the same way we share schematics and layouts?". I bet there are lots of people here that would find this useful.

I'll be the first one to put my two cents where my mouth is, sharing my graphics for a 1590A LPB-1.

First in PNG format (300dpi, transparent background), font is "Showcard Gothic".

And in Inkscape format: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20165528/LPB-1%20Graphics.svg

Sweet. I've been wanting to pop out some graphics for people to use, but I never knew how to approach it without looking like a showoff or something. I'll definitely add to a collection. Hopefully a couple others do as well... There are some seriously great styles people have developed around their pedals, and I know some of us have graphics we made but never used that could be shared. I have bits and pieces all over the place, lol.
Give a man Fuzz, and he'll jam for a day... teach a man how to make a Fuzz and he'll never jam again!

I've never tried anything outside of paint markers, and am looking forward to my first few attempts at going beyond. Definitely need help in this area.

Nice one Perrow, I love the border. I bet this thread will be 1000 pages in a couple years...

I'll start a competition when we're getting close ;D

Order some water slides from ebay and go crazy, it's the most fun I've had in a long time, and the result looks stunning :)

The more I look at that LPB1 the more I'm astonished! I know it's "simple" but the idea of "connecting the word with the lables" is .....great, GENIUS!!

Though I cannot contribute here ... I will have a look at this thred just after the picture thred  :D  :D

thanks for sharing!

Wow, this will be amazing - excellent idea!
It would be awesome to have templates for each of the enclosures & drilling options from somewhere like Mammoth.
Especially for someone who is "graphic-design-impaired" like me  :icon_lol:
Although I can't contribute to this thread yet, I sure will when I can!

OK, here is the template I use when I am designing etched enclosures. I scanned a BB-sized enclosure. I then use black and white layers, along with beveling and blending, to simulate the etch in the enclosure. It works really well.  It takes a bit of explanation to use (and Photoshop 7+, GiMP might work).

To use the file, open it up with Photoshop. You'll see a layer set of Black (Recessed) layers, and White (Level) layers. Anything you want recessed must be black, and must be in the Black layer set or above.  Anything you want level (unetched) that knocks out the black must be white, and must be in the White layer set or below. To add the bevel effect to any new layer, right click an effected layer, Copy layer style, right click the target layer, Paste layer style.

When you are ready to print, you strip off the layer effects, hide the enclosure, make everything you want etched white and protected black, flip horizontal, and print... if I recall correctly.

Here is the link to the template [PSD]. Here is an image of what the template looks like:

Here are some examples of what I have done with it: This became this. This became this. This became this. This became this. This became this.

Can't let this one die, so...

Here is a high-quality 1200dpi PDF that I made, containing the TapLFO/VCLFO waveshapes for your personal/non-commercial etching/waterslide uses: Link

Also, here are the Sketchup models that I made of some enclosures (1590A, 1590B, 1590BB). These are automated conversions from .igs files. Link.

Enjoy! :)

Hi

as stated it's probaly too hard for me to contribute to this tread, but what about a help ??  :icon_mrgreen:  :icon_mrgreen:

I've always wanted to have a pedal to looks like a racing car..... the best I can come out with is this

(this is just a prinscreen of the drawing I've created it with MsPublisher, still learning Inkskape)

Though I have a strong feeling it looks too "basic" sort of kid-ish  :icon_redface:  :icon_redface:

Is anybody there willing to help me to give it a "real look"

Thx mates!!

i know little of racing cars or design but you may find some ideas/inspiration/graphics to rip off by searching for cars and 'papercraft'.

also, check out the van in the pictures thread: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=36392.msg822101#msg822101 :icon_biggrin:

this came up in an image search, the pic looked stompboxish, haven't watched the vid, may be of interest: http://grainedit.com/2010/03/05/go-faster-the-graphic-design-of-racing-cars/

rutabaga bob

-definitely intersted in this!  i have been thinking along these lines in the last couple of days...putting up a couple of cartoon graphics for the 'bronx cheer' and 'stiff hippy' that other people might want to incorporate.

thx for the links artifus, very interesting (didn't though about "papercraft")

thoug I was just looking not to "build a pedal like car" with wheels, light and so on.... but to give a pedal a look like the body of a racing car, how would you say... Pimp my stompbox!!!  :D  :D  :D

Thanks again

.....it's what Friday afternoons are for!!

I really like the racing car idea, so I did this as a first draft.  Don't know if it's any better than Arma's graphic, but it's more shiny!

I drew it in MS Word, if anyone's interested.

mark, love the dashboard graphic, you probably already calculated this, you will need very small knobs if you are intent on seeing the numbers on the dials.
