DIY Fuzz Factory clone ticking/ clicking

I've just finished my first DIY pedal build. It all works fine, mad fuzz tones with all of the insane oscillation.

The only thing is that unless the comp knob is turned all the way up, the pedal 'tick' at a steady interval

is this normal, or have I done something wrong?

I haven't noticed mine ticking before...
Are you daisy chaining other pedals along with the Fuzz Factory such as digital pedals?

no, it was just being powered on its own when I tested it.

Maybe i'll try different cables and guitars before I assume its the pedal
