What LDR's are you using? What bulb are you using?
What setting are you using?? There are a lot of variables with this circuit.

I am using the radio shack bulb and LDR's ..the biggest of the 3 sizes.(had them laying around)..pointing them directly at the bulb..

Personally, I've used a number of LDR's and bulbs. They all worked, but some were better than others.
I've found that getting the right bulb will give the widest sweep, but the LDR's must have the right spec too.

I'm not sure what advice I can give you, but I couldn't get mine to sound right until I put in the bulbs and LDR's from small bear.

+1 depends on the dark/light resistances of your ldrs i would think.

And their response time. But again, the speed of the bulb will affect this too.
