Hi all,
Just finished my very first build. As stated In the subject, it's a tonepad tubescreamer.  Haven't put it in an enclosure yet because I wanted to test it.  Anyway, I'm getting a clean signal with a slight volume drop when the pedal is active.   Both the drive and the level pots will bring the volume all the way to zero.  It just won't overdrive.  I haven't started debugging yet, won't be able to start until I get home from work tonight.  I have googled around the net and found a few threads of others having the same problems.  My guess is I have a resistor value wrong.   I have the ts9/TS-808 switch mod and also the clipping switch mod.  I also put five caps on a rotary switch for the tone stack mod.  As near as I could tell that seemed to be working as well. Anyway, I'll start the debugging process tonight and I'll follow the official debugging instruction thread.  Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on where to look that may speed my process.
Thanks

Did you etch your own board? I don't know much about TS, but if everything else is OK I guess maybe you wired the switch wrong or shorted out so the signal doesn't cross the diodes.

Check resistor and cap values and solder joints first. Then I'd definately check it out with a DIY audio probe. Also check the voltages on the ic's. I'm sure those voltages are listed somewhere in the forum.

Problem found.  I did all the debug voltage checks and everything looked fine.  Double checked for correct component placement and that was fine. I wasn't happy with my rotary switch setup for the cap selector so I took it out and soldered in the .047uf cap and poof, it worked.  I'm going to leave it as is for now because it wasn't going to fit in the enclosure anyway.  I'll work on the rotary switch on my next one.  Now time to start planning my compressor build.  Any suggestions?

My £0.02: Orange Squeezer.  Nice easy build.  Sweet sound.  Built two so far; third to follow...
