Hey everyone,

I've never put knob dials on my graphics for pedals.  I was thinking last night "it might actually make it easier to remember settings if i did."

So, had a slow day at work today, you know how it is, decided to make a few knob dial graphics.  They are PNG so you can edit them as you wish.  Created in fireworks, I hope the file plays nice with your editor.

I might add some more later, but heres a few basic ones to start with.

!!! THIS IS A PREVIEW, DOWNLOAD PNG BELOW !!!

Thanks! I really appreciate this, been looking for something similar for a time..
Best of all, now I don't have to make them myself  ;D

Did something similar to my Scrambler, but wasn't all that pleased. Hard to get right with the transfer for the etch :(

Edit: Any tips how to get a big picture instead of the thumbnail with a link?  :P

vector would be nice....I'll second the motion

I like the dots myself. I've used that in the past when I was able to make prefessional looking graphics.

Fireworks doesnt do SVG sorry :(

I've added some new dials to the file (and will probably do more).  Went a bit mental with the "star" style.  Some things just work well you know :)

What about PDF or other vector formats like PS?

inkscape converts images to svg with trace path. googling for a brief tutorial brought up this online converter. http://vectormagic.com/home. not tried it yet.

What, nothing that goes to 11?

I use Inkscape which is why I asked about a vector version.  The trace path feature works, but it's really dependent on the image - I find it difficult to get precise detailed results which makes it kind of pointless.  I also tried the online converter - worked okay but zooming in you just don't get the smoothness because the original doesn't have it - pretty similar to Inkscape.  Also - the gradients come out segmented, which in some ways looked pretty cool.

In fireworks you can enlarge these dial images as much as you like without degradation of the resolution / image quality, which makes me suspect it is a vector, or fireworks handles the file differently.  I will 'save as pdf' when i get back to work on monday.

from a brief search i found someone explaining that fireworks png saves raster as raster and vector as vector within the png file.  Unfortunately id say editing is probably going to be difficult unless you use fireworks.  I might install inkspace and see if i can get something that co-operates.

I opened it in Inkscape and it's just raster.  It will be interesting to know if Fireworks produces the PDF with vector or raster.
