I am encountering noise on my pedal with fulll volume from my guitar, but even more when I turn the volume down.

Is this because of the jumpers, some kind of gnd loop, or because of the two carbon comp resistors I am using for the 4.5v voltage divider?

What kind of "distortion pedal"?

What kind of "noise"? Hiss? Hum? Radio stations?

It is a TL071 distortion. Pretty much a rat remake without the current follower(s).

The noise is more of a buzz, as if I were holding my thump to the guitar cable with the amp up.

Also, it does get louder as it turn up the gain.

Metal case, connected to circuit ground?

Without more information, we can only shoot in the dark. Picture _might_ help.

The circiut is below. I am currently operating it without the cuttent followers. Ignore the input signal going into the (-) in, that is a typo... the actual ciruit's input goes into the positve in.

Aside from that discrepency the circiut is operating from the 1uf input cap to the .022uf cap

I have not cased the circiut yet... it is only connected to the grounds on the jack

Any high-gain circuit will buzz laying open on the bench.
