Yep - if you flick the switch, Output 2 is no longer grounded.
If you're using a metal case to put this in, make Output 2 a plastic jack.

just wired up a AB/Y box using this diagram and I'm getting bleed through on whatever output is not active? I have double checked my wiring and its all exactly like the diagram. The signal coming through the non active channel is not full signal though it's like half if I had to give an example. Can anyone offer some insight for me? Thanks!

Anyone build this one linked below? I got the transformers for it a few years ago but ended up selling the amps that required the pedal but now I want to get back to it.

I haven't yet, but I also bought the transformers to build this as well and you're reminding me to finish it. My plan was to build a multi-channel splitter for studio use where I can feed five sources: amps, DIs, mic preamps, etc with switching and phase invert for each output. I'll post about it when I finally get to that part of my "to-do" list.

Yes, built it. Works brilliantly as an ABY. Has other uses. Recently used one to eliminate cross talk between 2 pedals when nothing else would work.

How did you build it? I think there's a veroboard layout around, but I'm not sure is 100% verified.

Rolled my own pcb from a layout posted back then. Like so many images, I think it's fallen foul of the 'not free any more' hosting policies.

Edit 2: A phase reversal switch on one output is a really worthwhile addition accomplished with a 2PDT switch

Thank you. I remember your thread. I just had to figure out how I can include the phase inverter on that layout. Maybe I can copy the ROG Splitter Blend U2A stage.

Think of the ground and signal wires at the output as being connected to nothing but the either. Just use a simple switch to swap the leads.
