dd garage fuzz

Hello Peeps.

I've recently built the Garage Fuzz by Doug Deeper. I've used metal can 2n2222's and stuck to the values in this schematic...

...except I've swapped out the 1k resistor for a 10k pot to control the splat.

I don't seem to be getting much out of it though. I get a mild(ish) overdrive & a bit of splat when I turn the pot but that's about it. Anyone built this successfully ?? I may be expecting too much from it, but I haven't been able to find a demo.

The second transistor is flipped, make sure you have the emitter towards +9v.

Doh! Maybe that's why when I built it years ago it didn't work too well.

Yuppity. Everything's positioned correctly. I might be expecting too much like I said earlier. I was looking for something a bit dirtier in a 'back of the club, up against the bins' way. It's quite tame though.

Go 18v, it will sound better. 9v sometimes is not enough to get the negative resistance.

I'll try that. Also, is it positive or negative ground ??
