Hi y'all, my name is John, a new member from Montreal, long time lurker.  first i just want to say what a great community and thanks you all for contributing, Invaluable info on here! i wish i could contribute as much!  (i apologize in advance for grammar errors ect.. french is my first language..)

I tried building a Mutron Micro V (envelope filter)  using this layout found on here.  sadly, i didnt see it was unverified....

Has anyone build it using this layout?  or any other re-vision floating around ??

My version isn't working at all, I built it trusting it was accurate..... (big mistake)

here's the schematic i found :  http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Filters%20Wahs%20and%20VCFs/Mu-tron%20Micro%20V.jpg

I don't understand a couple of things:   my version had NO power to q3  and Ic1 ??????   I see on this layout pin 1 of the 1458 is connected to ground through the jumper??  should'nt it be Vcc??

also Q3 is connected to  pin 8 of the ca3080  ( wich is suposed to be NC)    isn't it suposed to be to Vcc or am i missing something ?

any help would be very appreciated

Thanks

I made one using the layout found here: http://www.pisotones.com/MuTron_Micro-V/Mutron-Micro-V.htm    It worked fine right away. The page is in Spanish, but the schem, pcb pattern, and parts layout are all you really need anyway. Online translators can be used to translate the page with some amusing results (auto wah = car wah, etc) .
More dynamics????? I'm playing as loud as I can!

Hi! thanks for the reply!

Yes i've seen this page, but i chosed the layout in the gallery by Samuel80, but in retrospect, i should have used the pisatone one.

I'm using the search of this forum to find info/report and i found this thread, wich wouldnt come up on google..:

http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=53059.0

Strangerock says :  "i went over the schematic and found the problem.
ic 1: pin 1 and pin 7 should be switched
pin 2 and pin  6 should be switched
pin 8 should go to +9v
ic 2  pin 4 should be grounded
i think that might well be it for tonight."

also hank reynolds 3rd (who i think is the layout creator) said:   "the trace between C4 and C9 will need a jumper to where Q1 C3 meet....

i havent investigated yet if it works or if i can fix it in my build without starting from scratch (i hope). i wish i'd seen this thread before lol..
So if anyone wants to build using this layout, do these mods before.  This old layout shouldbe removed from the archives though, as it's known to have problems.

will try to report asap

Ok i tried fixing the errors as mentioned earlier to no avail..... R.I.P  i will start another circuit from scratch, probably the pisatone one..

that layout should be deleted from the archive, too much errors  :
