Awhile back I did the tone bypass mod on my nyc big muff pi reissue and i just pulled it out to use again and noticed something weird.  :icon_confused:
First off I disconnected and removed the power adapter supply input since i only use batteries on fuzzes, so the existing hole is where the new tone bypass switch is.
When the pedal is engaged and the LED is on and when I pull the cable from the input jack the LED remains on for about a minute or two, slowly fading away... this is the only pedal that i noticed does this, i've only seen something similar before but it ran off of a wall wart power supply.  Also if i hit the bypass switch off and back on again the LED will come back on (although abit more dim) without a cable plugged into the input!

The other thing is that I replaced the red LED with an orange one, and changed the limiting resistor to it so it is bright enough when on.

is there an issue with how i reconnected the battery power supply to the circuit when disconnecting the external power supply jack? or could it be the orange LED? or is it nothing to worry about?
seems like power is slowly disapating from the unit and is not immediate like any other unit.  i checked the wiring to the jacks and it seems correct.  (maybe I need to upload photos?)

The battery life seems fine, its the same one thats been in the unit for months...

Switching through the input jack is often used to connect batteries so they don't drain when they aren't plugged in. And a cap, most likely the one from 9V to ground to smooth bumps in power, is supplying a bit of power after the jack is pulled and the battery disconnected.
