Hi all,

Any suggestions for an equivalent for a 2N2712 bipolar transistor? I'm going to build GGG's Leslie Simulator.

Thanks for any/all advice!

why not 2SC1213 like your link suggests?

LucifersTrip

according to data sheet the 2N2712 has hfe range 75 - 225, so you might not want to use one with real high hfe.

the 2SC1213 is 60 - 320 hfe

there are of course other properties of a transistor, but it just seems they're choosing ones with relatively low (by today's standards) hfe
always think outside the box

2SC1213s are not currently available at Mouser, where I usually purchase my components. I wanted to get everything from the same place so I didn't have to pay additional shipping for a small purchase.

PRR

The hFE is not intensely critical. Diddle the 22K collector resistor to get the collector *roughly* half the supply voltage.

I'd just buy a few off ebay, for pennies.

You could try http://alltransistors.com/crsearch.php?mat=Si&struct=npn&pc=0.2&ucb=18V&uce=18V&ueb=5V&ic=0.1&tj=125%C2%B0C&cc=12&hfe=75/225&mnf=&caps=TO981

Thanks for the input. I always get very valuable feedback from this forum!
