Hey,

So I've built the dr boogey using sabros layout. http://www.sabrotone.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DrBoogey.gif
I'm getting a clean signal through it with the volume knob turned down and major oscillation and noise.
q1 d 5v
     s .41v
     g 0v
q2 d 5v
     s .25v
     g 0v
q3 d 5v
     s .44v
     g 0
q4 d 5v
     s .5v
     g .39v
q5 d 7.9v
     s 5.54v
     g 5.51v

I've checked and rechecked layout, checked and rechecked for solder bridges, triple checked the pot wiring and nothing. As I said I hear clean guitar with the volume knob down which means it found another way out but damn this thing is kicking my butt. The distortion isn't full volume as well. I turn the pot and you hear distortion in the background. If the noise and whatnot wasn't there it would sound deadly aside from the lack of volume. Any help would be SO appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

As they always say around here "make sure you have all the cuts".... They should display the vero boards without the components exposing all the cuts, that would eliminate a lot of non-working first time builds...
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

I hear ya. I've got all the cuts seemingly in the right places judging from the layout pic. I might make a new board and see if maybe one of the components is faulty. I can't seem to order the j201s around here and I only got 10 from small bear. I hope its not the transistors...

How nice would it be if my projects fired up perfectly from day 1?
