Which Pot Brands Can Be Disassembled?

Hi,

A while back I bought an old Fender Fuzzwah pedal. It's in reasonable condition however it uses a dual-gang pot which is scratchy. The problem is, the two pots are different values (A1M and B10K). I can't find anything like this anywhere so I think I'll have to make my own. I've ordered two sets of pots online in the hope that I could combine them however none of the pots I've ordered can be disassembled.

Does anyone know which brand of pots can be easily disassembled?

Cheers,

Chris

I've tinkered with Alpha pots. Carefully bend the tabs out, do your magic, re-assemble, bend the tabs back over.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

The dual alpha pots can be hard to disassemble, if I recall right the shaft is held into the second pot by the aluminum shaft being mutilated into little tabs that stick out further than the diameter of the shaft, but it looks like the kind of thing that would break, or at least break after being forced in to remove the shaft, and then forced back out when it's reassembled.  I know old CTS dual pots could be disassembled many times, but am not sure if the new ones have followed alpha's example in being a 1 time assembly only part.

I hate to say it, but I think the easiest approach would be to take apart the fuzz wah pot, and clean it out (if possible), as well as force the wipers over onto a fresh part of the track of the resistive element.  Also be sure to clean the metal ring where the moving wiper connects electrically to the wiper lug on the stationary part of the pot, a lot of scratchiness can live up in there.  It may still have some life left yet.
