Fuzz Factory Transistor Swap

Hey guys, if I wanted to swap out the silicon transistor in the fuzz factory pedal with a germanium one would I just need to make sure the germanium transistor is NPN? how exactly would it change the sound?

though, you may have to alter the 220K and 10K to accommodate a ge

that's the fun of DIY...try it. I kind of remember others doing that as a "mod" and stating that it did sound quite different.  remember, that's a really hairy pedal where one small change in a knob can cause a big difference...so , if you change the type of transistor...

Yeah, thanks, I'm actually building a slightly varied version of the fuzz factory.
