Hi Everyone,

I have been looking for potentiometers like this one 9mm pot vertical, snap-in but i need the D shape shaft
and knurled shaft versions. I tried Mouser, Allied, digikey, without luck. Anyone knows where can I find those models?

Panasonic have something similar available however the range of values is pretty limited (D shaft). I've purchased from Digikey but more then likely others have them available.

Mouser has these in a wide range of values, do they qualify as knurled, linear and audio. Check datasheet for picture.

Mouser also carry a couple lines from Alps with D shafts but very limited in the values.

Looks like Small Bear has those knurled Alphas at a much better price.

Alpha will make any variant of their designs I want given a 1,000-piece minimum order. Then figure that a distributor has to stock a dozen values or so to have a credible catalog addition, and you can see that it takes an investment of several thousand dollars to make it happen. I (or Mammoth, for that matter,) can do this, but it does not happen all at once. Reverse audio pots, for example, were once not on anybody's menu; now they are common.

I have not had enough call for D-shafts to make it economical. Besides which, if you only need a few pieces, it's not hard to slice a smooth shaft in half with a cutoff wheel in a Dremel tool--instant D-shaft. The knurled shaft version is on the shopping list for next year.

Thanks for your replies.

Looks like the D-shape panasonic will work, the knurled ones at mouser and smallbear have a smaller plastic shaft and they don't have the panel mount option.

I was looking for these parts because I am starting to fix pedals for other people and I have found several broken 9mm pots so I wanted replacements that allow me to use the same knobs.

Now that i know that they are hard to find because they are custom made i think i will have to improve my dremel skills  :D.
