Picked up a used USA muff yesterday, and it was acting funny, like there was a power problem or a bad filter cap, fading in and out.  After about 10 mins I looked at the stomp switch and jack wiring and the soldering on the wires was TERRIBLE!  I touched up all the joints, many of which were very sketchy.  Works like a charm now.  Geez, you'd think a mass market company would have people doing a little better job soldering... this is a recent production model, nothing vintage.

Anyone else notice this issue with an EH pedals?

You bought it used so did you ever think it might be a previous owner's work?  I've worked on a lot of USA RI Big Muffs and haven't seen anything I'd be alarmed about.

I suppose that is possible, but the other muffs I've been inside (double entendre intended) seem to have similar soldering skills.  Not all, just some.  Idk, sorry I guess I was just grumpy!  lol.
