Boomerang/Noomerang Wah Sweep Issues

ok, I recently got a dead cry baby wah pedal for cheap and decided to try and refit it with a Boomerang/Noomerang wah.
I used the existing 125k pot with a 33k across pins 1 & 3 as per the Noomerange build notes. I got the Eleca Halo inductor from smallbear.
I really like the tone and sound of this wah, but the sweep seems to be lacking, I would certainly like a bigger sweep.
How do I fix this, do I need a better halo inductor, something like the Arteffect Stack of Dimes inductor, which looks like it has very similar specs to the original Boomerang inductor.
Or do I need one of those rare as hens teeth 25k pots ?

Thanks

the limiting resistor trick leaves much of the boomerang sweetness on the cutting room floor. in extenisve testing, the 33k limiting resistor across hotpotz 100k  was so lacking i didn't even bother putting it in the BG pot comparison video series ( shot the video, was not worth uploading to youtube).

i still don't know exactly why this is.

i need to set up a test rig to monitor what the bias of each tranny is doing as it passes across the sweep, but i think there is something going on with the 'choked down' pot that is not passing the same resistance to both halves of the pot simultaneously.

i also have a theory that this is possibly causing an audible difference due to the charge/discharge rate of the cap to ground of inductor.

so, yes, you need a smaller value pot. 50k log is a suitable sub. i have some RV4 style available with the gear mounted, proper washers, etc.

shoot me a message, i do trades also!
